Sporevann is Siljan's northernmost lake suitable for swimming and a highly popular outdoor recreation area for the residents of Grenland and Vestfold. The lake offers excellent opportunities for fishing, paddling, and relaxation in scenic surroundings.
Swimming Area and Nature Experiences
Sporevann is a regulated lake, which creates a dynamic shoreline.
- Sandy Beach: During low water levels, a beautiful and large sandy beach emerges.
- Smooth Rock Surfaces: Otherwise, the area is dominated by inviting, smooth rock faces (sva-fjell), perfect for sunbathing and swimming.
Activities at Sporevann
- Paddling: Fantastic conditions for canoeing and kayaking.
- Fishing: Good fishing opportunities in the lake (check local fishing regulations).
- Hiking: A popular spot for short hikes and day trips.
Camping and RV/Campervan Parking
At Sporevann, facilities are provided for basic camping and parking.
- Camping: Short-term camping is allowed for up to 2 nights. Note: Camping is done at your own risk, as the water level is regulated.
- RV/Campervan: Dedicated and suitable parking for RVs/campervans.
- Facilities: The area is equipped with two outhouses (toilets) and features waste disposal during the summer months.
