Spectacular skiing

Experience one of Norway’s most spectacular ski descents from the summit of Gaustatoppen. Gaustabanen takes you up to 1,883 meters above sea level, where you can enjoy far-reaching views across Southern Norway.

Gaustatoppen offers skiing for different ability levels. For beginners and families, there is a marked route from Tuddalstippen to the entrance of Gaustabanen. The 2.4-kilometer route follows the natural terrain and offers a good introduction to skiing beyond the groomed slopes.

For experienced skiers, the well-known descents on the eastern side of the mountain offer a much greater challenge. With steep slopes and demanding mountain terrain, these runs are a popular destination for freeride skiers from across Norway.

Ski at your own risk

All skiing and travel in the mountain terrain is at your own risk. Always assess the weather, snow and avalanche conditions before setting out.
